जय जय सुरनायक जनसुख दायक प्रनतपाल भगवंता

गोद्विज हितकारी जय असुरारी सिन्धुसुता प्रियकंता १

पालन सुर धरनी, अद्भुत करनी, मर्म न जानत कोई

जो सहज कृपाला दीना दयाला, करउ अनुग्रह सोई २

जय जय अबिनासी, सब घट बासी, ब्यापक परमानंदा

अबिगत गोतीतं चरित पुनीतं, माया रहित मुकुंदा ३

जेहि लागि बिरागी, अति अनुरागी, बिगत मोह मुनि ब्रिंदा

निसिबासर ध्यावहिं मुनिमन गावहीं जयति सच्चिदानंदा ४

जेहि सृष्टि उपाई त्रिबिध बनाई संग सहाय न दूजा

सो करउ अघारी चिंत हमारी जानेउ भगति न पूजा ५

जो भवभयभंजन मुनिमनरंजन गंजनबिपतिबरूथा

मनबचक्रमबानी छाडिसयानी सरन सकलसुरजूथा ६

सराद्श्रुतिसेषा रिषयअसेषा जा कहु कोऊ नहिं जाना

जेहि दीन पिआरे बेद पुकारे द्रवउ सो श्री भगवाना ७

ब्रह्ममुरारी सुरार्चित लिंगम
निर्मलभासित शोभित लिंगम
जन्मजदुःख विनाशक लिंगम
तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगम

देवमुनी प्रवरार्चित लिंगम
कामदहम करुणाकर लिंगम
रावणदर्पविनाशन लिंगम
तत् प्रणमामि सदाशिव लिंगम

सर्वसुगंधिसुलेपित लिंगम
बुद्धिविवर्धनकारण लिंगम
सिद्धसुरासुरवन्दित लिंगम

कनकमहामणिभूषित लिंगम
फणिपतिवेष्टितशोभित लिंगम

यह पठेत शिवसन्निधौ
शिवलोकं वाप्नोति शिवेन सह मोदते

English meaning


Canto 1

The Linga that is worshipped by Brahma, Vishnu and all the Gods,
the Linga that is pure of speech and radiant,
the Linga that destroys all sorrows arising out of birth,
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 1


Canto 2

The Linga that is worshipped by the sages, the destroyer of Kama,
Linga, tha compassionate,
the destroyer of Ravan's arrogance,
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 2


Canto 3

The Linga that is annointed of all fragrances and
that is the cause of growth of intellect,
the Linga that is worshipped by the Siddhas, Devas and Asuras (Demons)
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 3


Canto 4

The Linga adorned with gold and precious jewels,
who is radiant and who has the king of serpents coiled around him,
the Linga that destroyed the yagya of Daksha
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 4

Canto 5
The Linga anointed with saffron and sandal paste
that appears radiant with a garland of lotuses
the Linga that destroys one's accumulated sins
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 5

Canto 6
The Linga who is worshipped and prayed unto by the Gods
the Linga who is worshipped with devotion
the Linga who is effulgent like a million Suns
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 6

Canto 7
The Linga that is enveloped with eight fold petals
the Linga that is the cause of 11 creations
and which destroys eight fold poverty
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 7

Canto 8
The Linga who is worshipped by the guru of the Gods and elite of the Devas
the Linga who is worshipped with divine flowers
the Linga who is higher than the highest, the supreme self
to that Linga (representing) Sadashiv, my prostrations ............ 8

He who recites this Lingashtak with devotion and punyam
ultimately finds abode in Shivlok and enjoys the divine company The Lord Himself
